The Classic style essence
Generally, the style essences are mature or youthful , feminine or masculine. The classic essence is mature neutral. This does not mean that the classic is Androgynous. Androgyny is defined by having both feminine and masculine characteristics. The classic is a nueter essence, it's gender-less. The reason for this is because the classic possesses physical features that are so balanced, their physical features seem almost perfect. When you look at them, it's not easy to choose any one feature that's out of place or is exaggerated. What could you pick out on these women's faces that could be considered a flaw.
None of the features on any of these women seem exaggerated. Their features are symmetrical. Since the classic's face is so neat, balanced, and simple, they must wear simple and neat style. Messy hair, excessive detailing, flamboyance, and so on, easily ruin a classic's looks.
Gong Li and Rose Byrne look bland and somewhat unappealing in overly complicated styles. Both look much better when they keep their style minimal and neat. Since classic's are "perfect", too much detail doesn't add to their beauty, it only covers it.
The other six style essences look good when they are expressing certain emotions. Classics look they're best when expressing no emotion. This leads to classic's and their style being considered " boring". But classic style isn't boring. Someone that does not have dominant classic may look boring in classic styles. But when a classic wears classic style they look elegant and classy.

I love your blog. Just found it, and have read everything.
ReplyDeleteI know I'm a primary classic. Any tips on figuring out if I have a blend of anything else? I can't decide between Gamine (I look cute in tomboyish looks and short hair) or a Natural (I have broad shoulders, but no other Natural traits I'm aware of, yet look good in jeans and tank tops).
Maybe both? Essences don't necessarily have anything to do with body type. You can have broad shoulders which is definitely a Natural (body type) trait and still have Classic and Gamine essence.
